Just a few pictures of what proved to be a great days Winter
Regional racing at Ipswich today.
Unfortunately the track suffered from some extremely heavy
rainfall in the 18 hours leading up to the event. Although there was no
standing water the clay sub surface didn’t allow moisture to drain, turning the
surface into a gloopy porridge. It wasn’t enough to stop racing, and although the strong wind literally stopped riders in their tracks it did help to dry the track by the finals!
Seriously thank you to everyone who came and took part. There was some very close racing in the end. In an era where people are complaining that the MX has been homogenized out of BMX with cookie cutter tracks and an over use of tarmac today was definitely a through back to times gone by!
Thank you also to the many volunteers who helped put on the meeting; we couldn’t have done it without you!
The final round of BMX East’s Winter Series is on Sunday 18th
March at Norwich. The next race at Landseer Park is the last round of Ipswich
BMX Club’s Winter Series on Sunday 25th March. See you there.
