Ipswich Winter Regional 25.10.15
A big THANK YOU to everyone who contributed/raced/volunteered
to help make our Winter Regional race such a success.
Ipswich hosted the first round of BMX East’s 2015/16
Winter Regional Series & Summer Series presentation – Halloween style!
Despite some heavy overnight rain the track held up well
& made for some great racing, helped in no small part by some fantastic
October weather.
Special thanks goes out to Ipswich Mayor, Glen Chisholm
who opened the meeting & even assisted with gate practice!
Every Ipswich rider competing did their club proud, none
more so than Aldis Salavejs who stormed to victory in only his second full race
here in the 14-16 boys. There was also a great win for Andy Ashford in the
Masters class.
Round 2 of the series is on November 22nd at
Milton Keynes – In the meantime enjoy some photos from round one.

Track work & Ipswich Winter Regional
Three important dates for your diaries.
The club requires enthusiastic volunteers to prep our Landseer Park track for our forthcoming Winter Regional race.
We hope to put in a few hours shovel work on the Saturdays of October 11th & 24th from 9am. If you can help in any way large or small please pop by. Shovels, rakes & barrows would be especially handy on the day.
Our 2015/16 BMX East Winter Regional is scheduled for Sunday October 25th. Registration closes at 11.30am on the day with classes for all. Pre registration will also be available online on the British Cycling website.
Racing should start around 12.15pm & we hope to have a spooky theme for the meeting as it's so close to Halloween!
The race will also incorporate the EA Summer Series 2015 trophy presentation, giving you even more reason to attend what we hope will be a great days racing.

Open day cancelled
Due to
varying reasons, including the Ipswich Sky ride the club have regrettably
decided to cancel our open day this
Sunday 23rd August.
This has
given our members & their families the opportunity to take part in the Sky
ride which runs from 11am-3pm in the town centre. http://www.goskyride.com/ipswichskyride?DCMP=knc-Google-nc-BrandLocation-ipswich-sky-rideElite British Cycling BMX rider Kyle Evans will be attending this year’s ride. http://www.goskyride.com/News/ShowArticle/Meet-Kyle-Evans-at-Sky-Ride-Ipswich?retURL=/News/Index/3006&omnitureSubSection=editors-picks
There will be an opportunity for club riders to meet Kyle & attend & Q&A session with him.
The route is traffic free & available for anyone to ride between 11am-3pm.
It would be nice if we could have a presence as a club at the ride. Those club riders wishing to ride together should meet at the University Campus Suffolk building on the waterfront at 10.45am for the start of the ride. Don’t forget your race shirts!
