Track work/Calendar changes

Please note that the coaching session scheduled for March 10th has had to be cancelled as we hope to resurface the track over this weekend.
Enthusiastic volunteers with shovels, & lots of energy are more than welcome... Many hands make light work!
Because of the need to ensure the track is 100% ready for our Winter regional/Spring classic on the 17th, the Promotional day on March 16th has become another track work day. We hope to offer some informal coaching on the day between 11-1pm. Curious newcomers, shovel wielding volunteers will all be made to feel most welcome.
See you trackside soon!

Funding for track improvements

On the 23rd of January the South East Area committee approved funding worth nearly £3000 in order that the club may purchase 60 tonne of Dolomite top surface for our Landseer park track.

In preparation for the this surface the club began drainage works today, removing the highly unpopular swimming pool (previously known as the bomb hole) section from the track.
Additional pipe work was also laid to divert water away from the centre of the track.

Bomb hole
The club hopes to continue with this ground work over the coming weeks, & ensure that the new surface is laid & rolled in time for it's Winter Regional/Spring Classic race on March 17th.

Ipswich BMX Club would like to thank the South East Area committee, Friends of Landseer park & the Borough Council for their recent assistance.

The club aims to lay the surface over a weekend soon & volunteers will be sought!
Keep checking back here for details.
