Club Jerseys - Second batch

The club is now taking orders for the second batch of race jerseys.
I think everyone is in agreement that the new shirts look fantastic & it would be great to have as many club riders wearing the shirts as possible.
Unfort
unately the second batch will not be subsidised & will cost the full cost price of £30.
The design of the shirt is shown below. Note the name at the top rear of the jersey. This can be any name of your choosing (or none at all) for no extra cost!
Delivery time for the shirts is around 5 weeks from order. Order forms will be available trackside from club officials this weekend & Tuesday evenings
Please choose your required size carefully from the guides below (youth & adult) as jerseys that are incorrectly sized are non-returnable. The size chart is fairly accurate although the neck sizes can be slightly small. If in doubt order a size up which may help with growth spurts too!
Please complete & hand in your order by Tuesday 8th June to avoid disappointment!

Go Ride Summer Series Round 5 17.06.14

Ipswich BMX Club staged the fifth & penultimate round of its Go Ride Summer Series at its Landseer park track on Tuesday evening.
Riders were greeted by dry, dusty track in bright conditions with some blustery wind.

Formula 3 is the class for the youngest, least experienced riders & Leon Harrison continues to dominate it, winning all but one of his four races. Sebastian Hambling kept Leon honest with some good riding to take second overall.  The third spot on the podium was taken by Jamie Grimes.

Formula 2 was the evening’s biggest class with enough riders for an A & B final. Mason S Wright made the step up from Formula 3 & managed to secure victory in the B final. The evenings big winner was Alfie Cole who finished  ahead of Liam Rendell, second & Liam Meadows, third in the A final.
The final race of the evening was Formula 1. Shaun Andrews won each of his four races to take the class win. Series leader Ben Peters finished in second ahead of the fast improving Andrew Ashford, third.

Many thanks to all those who helped organize the race. The final round series is on Tuesday 2nd July. Registration closes at 6.45pm.

Track work in thunderstorms & heatwaves

A big thank you to all those who helped with the track maintenance over the weekend.
Despite the extreme & varied weather conditions the hard working volunteers were able to complete around 50% of what we wanted to achieve. A fantastic  effort indeed, but it still leaves us with a lot to do before our regional on June 29th.

Unfortunately due to vandalism on Saturday night part of the new reconstructed safety fencing on the start hill was damaged & removed.

Hopefully we can get this rectified in the near future.
Could anybody witnessing any antisocial behaviour at the track/park please report it to the Police & we can try to keep the track a safe usable facility.

Go Ride Summer Series Round 4 03.06.14

Ipswich BMX Club staged the fourth round of its Go Ride Summer Series at its Landseer park track on Tuesday evening.

Although the track had been battered by the recent wet weather, riders were greeted by dry, bright conditions with very little wind.

Formula 3 the class for the youngest, least experienced riders. Despite this they all seemed to make easy work of the rough Landseer Park track. Leon Harrison continues to dominate the class & winning each of his four races. Mason S Wright finished second in each of his leaving Sebastian Harrison to round off the podium in third.

Formula 2 provided the crowd with the most competitive racing of the evening, with three riders in contention for the win up until the last moto. Alfie Cole rode his new bike into third place. Ahead of him were Abi Pike, second & Oliver Wright, first who rode that bit more consistently to ensure the win.

The final race of the evening was Formula 1. Shaun Andrews had to sit out due to mechanical failure along with Lee Matthews who was suffering from a bout of lethargy.  Andrew Ashford was to finish third behind Alex Pike whose first straights were the fastest of the night.  It was Ben Peters who ironed out the bumps in the track better than the rest & won each of the four motos to take the gold medal.

Many thanks to all those who helped organize the race. Round five of the six round series is on Tuesday 18th June. Registration closes at 6.45pm.

Coaching takes place next Tuesday evening & will be split into two classes.  Please get to the track by 6.30pm to register your interest.
