Ipswich Winter Regional @ Braintree

A big thank you to Braintree BMX Club & everyone that helped staged the 6th & final round of the East Anglia winter series on Sunday.
The Essex track coped well with the recent bad weather & the rain help off on the day up until the final race.
Despite the cold gloomy conditions everyone got to ride their bikes!

IMPORTANT VENUE CHANGE

It is with regret that the 6th & final round of the East Anglia winter series at Ipswich on 17/3/13 will now take place at Braintree BMX Club.
This is due to the recent extreme weather preventing the club from completing its improvements to it's Landseer park track.
The club wishes to thank Braintree for its assistance & use of facilities in order that the race can still go ahead.
Further track work is scheduled from 9am this Saturday 16/3/13, although we will not be using any heavy plant on the track due to the current wet conditions.

Here's hoping for kinder weather this weekend!

Track work in the snow

A big thank you to those club members & volunteers that helped out with the track today.
The recent awful weather did not let up.
Thanks to the efforts of those present we were able to transfer the rest of the surface trackside, make additional improvements to the drainage & edge 90% of the track.
Unfortunately because of the weather  we were only able to work for the single day & were unable to put any plant on the track for fear of making conditions worse.
It's hoped that we begin to lay down the surface next weekend (weather permitting!). Times will be announced soon.

Cold, wet & miserable!

Saturday's track work cancelled

Due to the current wet weather Saturday's track work has been cancelled.
It's been decided that using heavy plant on & around the track is only likely to worsen the site.
Work will resume on Sunday 10th March & we hope to see as many willing volunteers there as possible.

Please pop by Sat & Sun (9 & 10th March) & help out if you can. Even if it's only for an hour - Many hands make light work!
See you all (& your shovels & spades) this weekend.

60 tonnes ready to go!
